Eastown Counseling was established in the spring of 2016 by Jenny Hall and Jenny London, friends and colleagues with a shared sense of counseling as vocation--"the place where your deep gladness meets the world's deep need" (Parker Palmer). We were joined by soul sister Gloria Warren in the fall of 2016. Jenny, Jenny and Gloria each have training and experience in a variety of settings including Community Mental Health, inpatient hospitals and outpatient clinics. We're all fully licensed by the State of Michigan and credentialed by our respective Professional Boards, and we're committed to upholding the highest professional and ethical standards of our field, while also honoring each clients' unique needs through the flexibility and creativity afforded by our small private practice setting. We really love our jobs, and we believe in what we do!

Through my training and professional experience, as well as in my own life, I've found that all of us complicated, unique humans share some basic common goals. In the words of the poet Hafiz, we all want "to love more, and be happy." I've also found that with some bravery, strength and wisdom, the difficulties we face today can serve as catalysts toward positive change and a more meaningful, fulfilling life.
Seeking help is a brave step toward uncovering the strength and wisdom that are already inside you--qualities that can be hard to see when depression, anxiety, trauma, destructive behavior, low self-esteem or other challenges get in the way.
Using Mindfulness and Acceptance-based strategies, as well as Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical-Behavioral tools, let's work together to understand and overcome the specific challenges you're facing, so that you may feel free, equipped and empowered to pursue your vision of a love-filled, happy life.

My goal is to work together in a collaborative, non-judgmental and client centered manner. If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, self worth/self esteem problems, addiction, or have difficulty managing your relationships, I can work with you to identify healthy ways in which to cope and better manage your emotions. Together we can also identify ways to help you with making healthy lifestyle changes both emotionally and physically. I encourage a holistic (mind, body, spirit) approach to treatment. As you become more aware of your strengths you become more confident in yourself and your abilities.
Another one of my specialty areas is my work with bariatric clients, both pre and post operatively. I find that supporting this journey is important not only physically, but emotionally as well. Learning new skills and lifestyle strategy changes is the key to success during this process.

Licensed Professional Counselor
Whether you have an ongoing concern or an acute, interpersonal crisis; counseling support can be helpful. No matter how you’ve gotten to this point in your life, our work will focus on what’s going to help move you forward. I believe personal growth requires both insight and action. My strength is in working with clients to help identify and change thinking and behavior patterns that interfere with taking positive action. As a counselor my goal is to partner with you in exploring your present circumstances, determining meaningful goals and helping you stay motivated and hopeful about the future.
